69 Coronet Convertible Dash Restoration

69 Coronet Convertible Dash Restoration

TRV Digital |

All of the dash components have been restored over the past year. We had the standard Mopar instrument cluster restored and opted for white gauge faces to offset the Mopar white interior. Metal dash frame was stripped to bare metal, sanded and painted black. A new 69 B Body dash pad was installed. We took the dash filler panels and stripped and painted them the Mopar white to match the Legendary seat covers. We have a custom Coronet 500 decal for the dash filler panel above the glove box. We had it designed in the original Chrysler script so it should be a nice accent to set off the interior. We are going with a new Redondo Thumbwheel radio which fits in the original radio faceplate. We stripped the switch panel and painted it white to go along with the filler panels. Spent some time detailing the lettering with a paint marker- definitely a lesson in patience. The switches have been restored. All new bulbs and sockets installed in rear of cluster. We are running 3 Auto Meter live gauges: temperature, oil pressure & volt gauges. We installed these at the bottom middle of the dash right in front of the floor shifter. We assembled all of the components onto the dash frame and then installed the entire dash into the car this past week. Project is starting to look like a car again.
